There are four segments to the diving course: Book work, exams, pool work and the open water dives. Up until recently, students were able to opt to do the book portion of the certification online. After the book and pool work completion, a referral to do your open water dives will be given to you. Open water dives usually take place in a lake, quarry or ocean with normally 4 to 5 successful open dives. Know that your open water dive should be done within a certain amount of time upon receiving your referral. Practice the skills you have learned in class and in the pool. If you’re successful, you will finally be able to receive your certification card.
