The Zoobic Safari presents a once-in-a-lifetime experience of a 25-hectare amusement park full of exotic animals roaming around in their natural habitat. Zoobic may very-well be the closest thing to an actual wild animal jungle in the area. The safari is nestled amidst the jungle of a former U.S Naval Magazine. No clearing or destruction of any of the lush vegetations occurred upon building the site.

Zoobic is divided into five main attractions with each one as full of excitement as the other. Each visiting group is assigned to a tour guide who will take you around your entire Zoobic Safari adventure.
First stop, the Zoobic Park Petting Zoo with tons of birds, pigs, deer, monkeys, miniature horses, goats, sheep and bearcats to see. The tour guide will share his knowledge on each of the animals under his care, which is simply a taste of what the safari has more to offer.

Housing a small collection of reptiles, the Zoobic Serpentarium is home to different kinds of lizards, pythons and turtles all lined up in a row of bunkers inside cages. The ammunition bunker keeps these reptiles in a nice and cool cage to keep them out from the heat of the sun. Right outside, some young crocodiles can be seen lounging in a couple of ponds.

The true highlight of Zoobic is the experience with the tigers. It is recommended to purchase some live chickens to feed to tigers in order to get some action going. Don’t fret about the idea of feeding, though, as visitors will be safe inside the jeepney behind bars. A wire cage covers all open areas, which include the windows and doors of the jeepney. The chicken is then tied to a rope and tossed to the ground near the tigers to consume. For an even more thrilling experience, the person handling the chicken would throw the bait over the roof of the jeepney wherein the tigers will then pounce without a care over, under and all around the jeepney until they reach their meal. This experience is definitely not for the faint of heart as it sends visitors inside the jeepney into a thrill over the experience.

For a more tamed encounter with the tigers, visitors are asked to hop into a small train that will take you around the tiger pens. A brief history about each of the tigers is explained as visitors get to experience a safer close encounter with these magnificent felines.

Finally, the final attraction called the Zoobic Savannah is home to animals such as ostriches, wild boards, guinea fowls and potbellies, all of which the kids will definitely love. Some say this is the most enjoyable part of the tour as it produces no signs of fear or frantic from their visitors.

Aside from the five main attractions mentioned, Zoobic also has a place for crocodiles and rodents. Admission fees are at 295 pesos from Monday to Thursday with an increase to 395 pesos during Friday to Sunday. Try to visit the place during the middle of the week where it’s mostly quiet as opposed to the frantic weekend crowds.

Only a handful of adventures can live up to the experience of seeing big cats in action, as having the chance to feed these powerful animals is another experience altogether. That alone makes the Zoobic Safari in Subic truly one of a kind.
